The first IEEE International Conference on Technologies of Information and Communication for Disaster Management (ICT DM'2014) took place at the CERIST on the 24th and the 25th of March 2014. The conference lasted two days during which prominent national and international experts gathered around the theme of the use of new Information and communication technologies in disaster management. Indeed, the revolutionary potential of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) lies in their ability to instantly connect vast networks of individuals and organizations across great geographic distances. ICT can play a role of "catalyst" in reducing disaster risks through early warning, coordination and monitoring of rescue actions and resources.
