CDTA, CERIST, Paris Saclay University (France) and Würzburg University (Germany) are organizing, under the patronage of the Directorate General of Scientific Research and Technological Development (DGRSDT), the first spring school on Human-Computer Interaction and Virtual and Augmented Reality, to be held from April 23
rd to 25th , 2017, at CERIST headquarters.

Theme and Purpose

The omnipresence of virtual and augmented reality in computers (PCs, tablets, smartphones, etc.) and the popularization of sensors require the development of new modes of interface and human/ machine interaction "HMI". This is made possible by gestural or vocal interaction or by taking into account emotions, intentions or the social context. We have also witnessed the evolution of multi-modality, which exploits the user's multi-sensory and motor coupling, and real-virtual hybridization, which integrates elements of these two worlds.

With the emergence of virtual and augmented reality technologies, the modeling of HMIs is, until now, a major challenge because many problems remain to be solved such as the study of human behavior, user awareness, evolution in a critical environment, sharing or co-executing tasks in a collaborative environment.

The goal of this school is to better understand these issues by presenting the different challenges and trends of HMI for the benefit of virtual and augmented reality. This school is an opportunity for the target audience (academics, Phd students and manufacturers) to exchange their experiences and thus identify new avenues of research and encourage collaboration. The participants in this event will contribute to highlight the scientific reflections resulting from debates around the themes of the school. Each participant will receive two certificates, one from the Spring School and the other from the University of Würzburg, Germany.
