Dr. Hamid Menouar animera une conférence sous le thème: “Internet of Things for Smart Living” Le lundi 25 juin 2018 à partir de 14h00 au niveau du Bloc C.

Short summary: 

The Internet of Things (IoT) is not a new but a still emerging topic of constant interest to technologists, business leaders, policymakers, and the world at large. Even though there are many consumer products, durable goods, vehicles, industrial and utility components, and other everyday objects being already connected to the internet we are still in the early stages of what will become a highly connected world. When most of objects around us will be enabled with Internet connectivity and powerful data analytic capabilities the way we live and we work will drastically change. There are many and different projections for the impact of IoT on the Internet and economy but they are all impressive, with some anticipating as many as 100 billion connected IoT devices and a global economic impact ofmore than $11 trillion by 2025. 
In this presentation we will provide an overview of the IoT technologies and applications along with related challenges and opportunities. 

Speaker Short Biography:

Dr. Hamid Menouar is an expert in ICT and Smart Cities technologies and innovations with more than 13 years of solid international multidisciplinary experience that has started in 2005 at Hitachi in France. He has heavily contributed to the standardization and validation activities of the connected vehicles communication technologies and applications in Europe. In late 2010, he moved to Qatar to contribute to and lead interesting initiatives in the areas of intelligent transport systems and smart cities. He has been leading the design and the development of several smart solutions that have been deployed in the field. He is leading the Qatar V2X project which aims at implementing and deploying the first large scale connected vehicles pilot in the MENA and Turkey region. He is also leading another project that aims at using unmanned aerial vehicles (Drones) to automate some functions on the roads and contribute in enabling automation of transportation and mobility (next generation intelligent transport systems). 

Dr. Hamid also holds a long record of research outcomes consisting of patents, research publications, proof of concepts, innovative products and solutions in trending areas that  include: Smart Cities and Smart Living, Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAV), Internet of Things (IoT), Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Road Safety, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs/Drones), Indoor localization and Wayfinding...

Fort de l’expérience capitalisée en 2017 et des retombées positives du salon des produits issus de la recherche, organisé à la Safex en mai 2017, nous avons le plaisir de vous annoncer la reconduction de cet événement pour les 2-3-4 juillet 2018, soit à la veille de la célébration du 56éme anniversaire de l’indépendance.

Cette seconde édition consolidera les acquis des chercheurs dans le développement technologique et l’innovation, en privilégiant les activités partenariales avec le monde industriel. Si le salon 2017 a regroupé quelques 200 chercheurs avec 300 produits exposés, nous ambitionnons d’atteindre 500 produits et services en 2018 avec la valorisation des 100 meilleurs résultats de productivité de la recherche. Tous les domaines sont concernés, notamment les énergies renouvelables, la santé, l’agroalimentaire, l’électronique, l’informatique, les matériaux, des technologies de l’information, sans omettre les innovations touchant les sciences sociales, humaines et les arts.Des animations, espaces de vulgarisation scientifique et compétitions entre de jeunes étudiants des clubs scientifiques et startups seront également au programme.

De nombreuses démarches sont en cours pour sensibiliser et impliquer les acteurs du secteur socio-économique d’abord dans la recherche appliquée, ensuite dans la valorisation de produits issus de la recherche.

Another volume of the journal  is planned to publish selected articles of the 3rd International Symposium on Informatics and its Applications ISIA 2018 which will take place on 06 and 07 November 2018 at Mohamed Boudiaf university of M'sila .
