Even though there are many consumer products, durable goods, vehicles, industrial and utility components, and other everyday objects being already connected to the internet we are still in the early stages of what will become a highly connected world. When most of objects around us will be enabled with Internet connectivity and powerful data analytic capabilities the way we live and we work will drastically change. There are many and different projections for the impact of IoT on the Internet and economy but they are all impressive, with some anticipating as many as 100 billion connected IoT devices and a global economic impact ofmore than $11 trillion by 2025. <br />In this presentation we will provide an overview of the IoT technologies and applications along with related challenges and opportunities. </p> <p><strong>Speaker Short Biography:</strong></p> <p>Dr. Hamid Menouar is an expert in ICT and Smart Cities technologies and innovations with more than 13 years of solid international multidisciplinary experience that has started in 2005 at Hitachi in France. He has heavily contributed to the standardization and validation activities of the connected vehicles communication technologies and applications in Europe. In late 2010, he moved to Qatar to contribute to and lead interesting initiatives in the areas of intelligent transport systems and smart cities. He has been leading the design and the development of several smart solutions that have been deployed in the field. He is leading the Qatar V2X project which aims at implementing and deploying the first large scale connected vehicles pilot in the MENA and Turkey region. Si le salon 2017 a regroupé quelques 200 chercheurs avec 300 produits exposés, nous ambitionnons d’atteindre 500 produits et services en 2018 avec la valorisation des 100 meilleurs résultats de productivité de la recherche.
